Blooming

Spring, spring, spring.  I am definitely ready for the sunshine, the flowers, the smell of grass, playing outside, and everything else that comes along with spring.  I LOVE spring.  When I saw this springy craft, I just knew I had to do something similar.  So here is my version.

I took the same FELT circle flowers--3 circles deep.
Simple "X" stitch to hold them together.
I then cut a piece of cardboard to fit in my 8x10 frame.
Covered the board with burlap.
Marked out the spacing for the flowers and hot-glued them into place.
Oh, and of course I started with an old (and not cute) frame.  After a couple coats of some yellow paint and a little sanding, I was in LOVE with the frame.  Isn't paint the best!
And lastly, I placed the covered cardboard into the frame.
Done and done.
I think that perhaps the best part was that my 4-year old son told me it was really cute when I was done.  It is the best getting positive feedback from my kids.  Love it!

So, how are you feeling today?

I have a 4 and 3 year old.  They keep me busy.  We had a little playgroup at our house, so I came up with a fun little activity and lesson for them.  We talked about emotions.  I decided to take pictures of them making different faces to express different emotions.  From there I made little emotion charts--like the ones I am sure you've all seen with the little cartoon character faces.  They had fun, and they certainly made some funny faces.

Here's what I came up with for my two little ones:

Simple instructions:

1--Take pictures of your little one making the different faces.
2-- Use a photo editing program (I used photoshop).  I made my canvas size a 5x7 for easy printing.  I also turned the gridlines on so I could line everything up.
3--Adjust the pictures to be about the same size.
4-- Add the emotion underneath the picture.
5--Order the prints.
Easy and fun.

WELCOME

Hello and welcome!  I thought I would start with a little intro about me.  I've never been one to say I am a "crafty" person, but the past few years, I find myself turning to crafts to keep me sane.  And that is where the BLOGGING WORLD comes in.  Thanks to so many other bloggers for their inspiring projects, I am able to do something crafty myself.  So, I hope in sharing some of my projects, you will get your own inspiration!  Happy Crafting!
